Application Specialist / Powerschool Admin

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Application Specialist/PowerSchool Admin in Jackson, MI.

Summary:
The -District Technology Liaison - Applications Specialist- is responsible for overseeing and managing the district's Student Information System (SIS) system, database application management, and application integrations. This position works in conjunction with SIS/PowerSchool support, and other JPS SIS/PowerSchool team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the SIS system to ensure optimal performance and data integrity
* Managing data imports, exports, and transfers using SFTP and other methods
* Implementing and maintaining integrations between SIS platform and other district applications using LDAP and other SSO authentication methods through integration tools such as Clever
* Managing user access levels and permissions within the SIS platform to ensure data security and compliance
* Providing technical support to staff and administrators regarding the SIS platform usage and troubleshooting; Troubleshoot any technology issues that may arise on a daily basis
* Overseeing the performance, security, and integrity of the district's database systems
* Installing, configuring, and updating database applications to meet the district's needs
* Implementing and enforcing data governance policies to ensure data quality and compliance
* Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in database applications
* Developing and documenting integration architectures that align with the district's technology strategy
* Using SSIS and other tools to develop and test integrations between systems
* Mapping data elements between systems to ensure accurate data transfer
* Identifying and resolving integration issues
* Understanding and implementing security best practices to protect sensitive data
* Ensuring compliance with relevant data privacy and security regulations

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in technology field or equivalent from an accredited institution
* 3 years of experience in a similar field
* Experience with database management
* Knowledge of networking technologies
* Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software and programming
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
* Advanced computer skills
* Some technical writing skills
* Ability to collaborate with various departments and organizations
* Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
