Job DescriptionTEKsystems is supporting a large healthcare payer with ongoing transformation initiatives within their Membership and Enrollment organization, specifically supporting membership billing, payments, and accounts receivable (A/R) operations. We are seeking a Business Analyst support to ensure effective system adoption, workflow alignment, and operational readiness. This Business Analyst - Billing Systems & Operations role will focus on BillTrust utilization, workflow optimization, requirements documentation, and cross-functional coordination across Billing & Premium, IT, Analytics, and project stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesBilling & Premium Workflow Analysis- Analyze existing billing and premium workflows to ensure alignment with the newly implemented BillTrust system.
- Support teams in understanding and optimizing processes within BillTrust, identifying gaps or inefficiencies as adoption continues.
- Partner closely with the Billing & Premium team to ensure consistency between system configuration, SOPs, and day-to-day billing operations.
Requirements Gathering & Documentation- Gather and document business requirements related to premium billing, adjustments, membership transactions, and associated quality needs.
- Translate operational billing needs into actionable requirements for BillTrust configuration, automation, and reporting.
- Identify workflow dependencies and downstream impacts within billing and premium processes.
Quality & SOP Validation- Review billing- and premium-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and compliance requirements are met.
- Perform quality checks to validate billing processes, data outputs, and premium workflows against SOPs.
- Support audit preparation and quality assurance activities tied to billing accuracy and compliance.
Reporting Support- Review billing and premium reports for accuracy and alignment with system outputs.
- Partner with Data Analysts to validate billing-related data used for operational reporting and decision-making.
- Ensure reports meet regulatory requirements, particularly for Medicare billing and premium processes.
Cross-Functional & Vendor Collaboration- Work closely with internal stakeholders across Billing & Premium, IT, Analytics, and Operations.
- Participate in cross-functional working sessions to ensure reporting, quality, and billing requirements are represented.
- Support coordinated analysis and documentation efforts tied to broader system transitions (including legacy tool retirement and Salesforce integration).
Operational Readiness & Support- Assist with operational readiness activities tied to premium billing and Medicare plan changes.
- Participate in knowledge transfer from internal subject matter experts.
- Support testing activities, issue identification, and risk mitigation as billing systems and workflows mature.
Required Qualifications- 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on system implementation, process improvement, or change management.
- Experience supporting system implementations or post-implementation stabilization efforts.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to interpret, document, and validate detailed business requirements.
- Experience evaluating workflows, SOPs, and/or quality and compliance processes.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating across multiple teams, including offshore partners.
- Self-directed, solution-oriented, and able to ramp up quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills (Not Required)- Healthcare, payer operations, or premium billing experience.
- Familiarity with BillTrust or similar billing systems.
- Experience supporting Medicare plans or regulated billing environments.
- Exposure to Salesforce or system migration initiatives.
- Background in operations management, data analysis, or vendor coordination.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $37.00/hr.
