Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Birmingham, AL that is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) practices and enterprise test automation. While this role is aligned within Software Engineering, the primary focus is quality engineering, test automation strategy, and ensuring the delivery of highly reliable digital platforms. This individual will play a key leadership role in advancing existing automation frameworks, developing scalable testing solutions, and driving quality initiatives across complex web-based applications and APIs. The ideal candidate has a strong background in designing and implementing automated testing strategies and has experience owning quality efforts from planning through execution.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and enhance automated test frameworks and test suites using .NET and C#
* Lead test automation strategy and best practices across multiple applications and platforms
* Expand and improve existing automation solutions rather than building from a greenfield environment
* Create and maintain automated UI, API, and integration tests
* Partner closely with software engineers, product teams, and QA professionals to ensure comprehensive test coverage
* Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and quality metrics
* Support both automated and manual testing efforts as needed
* Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, reliability, and scalability
* Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Assist with defect analysis, root cause investigations, and quality reporting

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
* 7+ years of software testing and quality engineering experience
* Strong hands-on experience with .NET and C#
* Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks
* Deep understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC best practices
* Experience with both UI and API test automation
* Demonstrated ability to own and drive testing strategy across complex applications
* Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Selenium test automation
* SQL testing experience
* Performance testing experience (LoadRunner or similar tools)
* Experience testing digital customer-facing platforms and transaction-based applications
* Prior experience in highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
