Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in IBM i and RPG development to support and enhance core Warehouse Management and Supply Chain applications. This role plays a critical part in maintaining high availability across production environments used by major retail operations. You will work directly within a small, highly skilled team to manage enhancements, resolve production issues, and support integrations that keep retail and distribution workflows running smoothly. This position offers the chance to make an immediate impact on systems that drive day to day revenue operations.
In this role, you will maintain and enhance legacy RPG applications, support live production environments, and work closely with cross functional teams to deliver solutions. You will troubleshoot issues, run and debug batch processing, and ensure data flows effectively across connected retail systems. Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and enhance IBM i RPG applications supporting WMS and supply chain workflows
• Modify and extend business logic related to inventory, fulfillment, distribution, and store operations
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within live production environments
• Run, debug, and support batch processing including overnight inventory synchronization
• Support integrations between legacy WMS and broader retail systems such as POS and ERP platforms
• Partner with project managers and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver updates
• Adapt to shifting priorities across multiple customer engagements
• Optional participation in discussions around next generation architecture and modernization efforts
Key Requirements
• 7 plus years of RPG development experience on IBM i, AS400, or iSeries platforms
• Strong knowledge of WMS and enterprise supply chain systems
• Experience supporting retail operations including store, warehouse, and distribution workflows
• Hands on experience with DB2 for i, embedded SQL, CL, and related IBM i technologies
• Ability to operate independently in a small technical team with minimal documentation
• Strong problem solving abilities in high volume production environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stay flexible and responsive in a fast paced, customer focused environment
