Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform Data Platform Product Owner to support the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) organization. This role is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering enterprise-scale data platform capabilities on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic partner to business stakeholders, engineering teams, and governance functions to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that enable data ingestion, processing, and analytics across the enterprise.



Key Responsibilities


  • Define and own the product roadmap for the Google Cloud Platform Data Platform, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, and consumption capabilities
  • Translate business needs into scalable platform features and technical requirements
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog in alignment with strategic objectives
  • Partner with engineering teams to deliver data platform solutions, including ETL/ELT pipelines and analytics capabilities
  • Drive adoption and enablement of Google Cloud Platform-native services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, Cloud Composer, and Cloud Storage
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, data governance, security policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Establish and promote reusable design patterns for data integration and consumption
  • Collaborate across stakeholders to support change implementation and enterprise transformation initiatives
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap, and progress to senior leadership and cross-functional teams



Required Qualifications


  • 10+ years of experience in data management, data engineering, data platforms, or analytics
  • 5+ years of Product Owner or Product Management experience, including roadmap development and backlog management
  • 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise data solutions on cloud or big data platforms (Google Cloud Platform, Hadoop, Spark, or similar)
  • 3+ years of experience in data architecture or cloud-based data platform design
  • Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes, data ingestion, and transformation pipelines
  • Proven ability to work in Agile environments and manage competing priorities



Preferred Qualifications


  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, and Cloud Composer
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, IAM, and enterprise security practices
  • Experience supporting large-scale data platforms or data lake implementations
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value



Education
Bachelor s degree required; advanced degree preferred



Additional Information
This role supports enterprise data transformation initiatives and requires close collaboration across business and technology teams. Experience in change implementation or transformation programs is highly desirable.
