Engineering Technician IV: $5,699 per month*

Engineering Technician III: $5,109 per month*

Engineering Technician II: $4,596 per month*

Engineering Technician I: $4,214 per month*

* We're looking for someone with all types of knowledge and skill level related to Engineering Technology skills to join our team!

We are seeking a candidate with a passion for construction and engineering, who enjoys working outdoors and has a strong understanding of technology to fill our role as an engineering technician/construction technician!

As our new team member, you will be responsible for conducting field inspections for all types of construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents. You'll get to work with cutting-edge equipment like Robotic Total Station GPS, drones, and use computer aided drafting software such as MicroStation to measure and calculate quantities and create reports and plan sheets for use on construction projects. You'll also get to perform tests on road and bridge building materials for all types of projects to ensure that they meet NDDOT specifications.

But that's not all! You'll have the opportunity to assist project engineers with checking and organizing project final records, as well as with district design work that requires the use of MicroStation. And don't worry, we'll make sure you have all the necessary training and support to excel in these tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Engineering Technician IV: 6+ years of related experience; engineering or related college coursework/degree may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Engineering Technician III: 4+ years of related experience; engineering or related college coursework/degree may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Engineering Technician II: 2+ years of related experience; engineering or related college coursework/degree may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Engineering Technician I: High school diploma or GED required with basic understanding of job-related concepts.

All Levels:
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather and on uneven/slippery surfaces
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Valid North Dakota Class D driver's license
  • Material testing is preferred
  • Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. Related MOS codes include Horizontal Construction Engineer (12N), Geospatial Engineer (12Y), Technical Engineer (12T), and Engineering (3E5X1).
We are seeking candidates with a strong interest in construction and engineering, good organizational and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process, required job function screening and reference check.
