Location: Phoenix, AZ (Remote/Hybrid)
Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced IBM i (IBMi) System Administrator to support and enhance a mission-critical IBM i environment integrated with AIX/Power Systems, VIOS, Fibre Channel networking, and enterprise SAN storage. The ideal candidate will be responsible for platform reliability, performance, security, SSL certificate management, and operational support across development, test, and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
•    Administer and support IBM i (OS/400) systems including configuration, monitoring, capacity planning, and lifecycle maintenance
•    Manage IBM Power Systems virtualization including VIOS configuration, LPAR provisioning, virtual networking, and storage mappings
•    Administer Fibre Channel SAN connectivity including zoning, masking, and path management
•    Configure and troubleshoot Fibre Channel switches such as Brocade and Cisco MDS
•    Support SAN storage operations including LUN provisioning, multipathing, and replication concepts
•    Manage SSL/TLS certificates including CSR creation, renewals, installation, and troubleshooting
•    Perform OS, PTF, and firmware maintenance for IBM i and Power Systems components
•    Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and high availability processes including DR testing
•    Monitor alerts/logs, resolve incidents, and perform root-cause analysis
•    Maintain system security controls, auditing, access reviews, and vulnerability remediation
•    Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and technical procedures
•    Collaborate with application, database, storage, and network teams on migrations, upgrades, and integrations
•    Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support activities

Required Qualifications
•    3+ years of IBM i system administration experience in enterprise environments
•    Hands-on experience with:
o    IBM i (OS/400)
o    Power Systems virtualization and VIOS
o    LPAR provisioning
o    Fibre Channel SAN technologies
o    Brocade and/or Cisco MDS switches
•    Strong knowledge of:
o    SAN troubleshooting
o    WWPNs, zoning, and multipathing
o    SSL/TLS certificate management
o    IBM i security fundamentals
•    Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience with HA/Replication solutions such as PowerHA, MIMIX, or iCluster
•    Experience with BRMS, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery planning
•    Knowledge of AIX administration and HMC management
•    Scripting or automation experience using CL, Python, Ansible, shell scripting, or RPG utilities
•    Familiarity with SOX, PCI, HIPAA, or other compliance standards
•    IBM certifications related to IBM i or Power Systems
