Pay Range: $60 - $65/hour W2
Role Overview
We are seeking hands-on, execution-oriented engineers with strong Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) fundamentals and scripting ability. The role involves supporting and improving operational processes in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will balance technical capability with effective communication and documentation skills, contributing to the team's goal of increased automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and execute daily work through a Jira ticketing system, including request intake and validation.
- Execute certificate-related tasks using manual processes through application UIs and assisted scripting with PowerShell or Python.
- Troubleshoot failed scripts to understand and resolve issues in the execution flow.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure process alignment.
- Contribute to the improvement and documentation of operational processes.
- Work to reduce manual tasks by identifying opportunities for and implementing increased scripting and automation.
- Read and interpret technical documentation independently.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills:- Strong understanding of PKI concepts, including certificate structure, lifecycle, Extended Key Usages (EKUs), and validation criteria.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Python, including the ability to modify and execute scripts with correct inputs.
- Experience with REST APIs, including authentication methods (token-based, certificate-based) and programmatic credential retrieval.
- Familiarity with Jira for ticketing/workflow management and Confluence for documentation.
- Experience with Active Directory, including nested permissions and logical access models.
Experience:- Proven background in an operational PKI support role with hands-on responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and understand the backend processes behind scripts.
- Experience in identifying manual processes, breaking them into logical steps, and converting them into scriptable workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is considered beneficial.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder interaction, documentation, and providing guidance.
