Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Technical Specialist to support hardware and software operations within a distribution and imaging environment. This role focuses on installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, and shipping equipment, primarily mobile devices, while working closely with a small onsite technical team. This position is a backfill with built-in knowledge transfer prior to the current technician's retirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain computer hardware and software.
- Assist with device imaging for equipment being shipped to stores and distribution centers.
- Charge, diagnose, clean, and prepare returned or new equipment for redeployment.
- Label new and used equipment in accordance with internal processes.
- Support ordering and validation of mobile devices, primarily iOS devices such as iPads and some Android devices.
- Ensure devices are functioning correctly and configured for the appropriate store or location.
- Assist with packaging and shipping equipment as needed.
- Work closely with the team to support ongoing projects and daily operational needs.
- Utilize Salesforce and ServiceNow for ticket tracking and documentation.
- Perform repetitive, process-driven tasks with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
Required Qualifications
The following are the required qualifications for this role.
Experience:- Entry-level IT support or technical background, such as IT Support or Field Technician.
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software.
- Familiarity with mobile devices, with a preference for iOS and some exposure to Android.
Skills:- Ability to follow documented processes and directions.
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
- A flexible and team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Salesforce and/or ServiceNow for ticketing.
- Prior imaging or device deployment experience.
Compensation
The pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour.
