Summary

Job Summary:

The Sr. Manager, IT is a leader within the Information Technology department and is responsible for planning, staff and project management, financial oversight, performance measurement, and reporting. In addition, the Sr. Manager coordinates collaborative activities and team resources in support of the mission of IT and WMC. The Sr. Manager oversees complex and critical projects, driving them from initiation to completion across a diverse portfolio that includes operational improvement and transformation initiatives, special operational implementations, and data and analytics-driven projects. The Sr. Manager plays a key role in spearheading strategic objectives with execution, managing cross-functional teams, refining project management processes, and managing a technical and operational staff. The Sr. Manager is an autonomous leader with excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for continuous improvement in a data-driven healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring team members are able to meet project milestones.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with other IT Leaders and clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to ensure project objectives align with departmental needs and organizational goals.
    • Facilitate effective communication channels, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed of project progress, concerns, and solutions.
  • Strategic Project Management:
    • Leads the planning and implementation of high-impact projects, defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines in alignment with hospital strategic objectives.
    • Develop and manage comprehensive project budgets, including resource allocation and regular assessments of actual versus planned expenditures.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives designed to enhance workflow efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Risk and Quality Management:
    • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools to provide quality assurance through the development and implementation of responsive action plans.
    • Proactively manage project risks, implementing changes and interventions to achieve desired project outcomes.
  • Reporting and Evaluation:
    • Continuous monitoring and reporting on project progress to all stakeholders, providing detailed reports that define project progress, concerns, and solutions.
    • Conducts comprehensive project evaluations and assessments of results, identifying lessons learned and areas for improvement.

  • Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct data gathering, research, and due diligence to support grant applications, project proposals, market analyses, and vendor evaluations.
    • Supply critical information needed for strategic decision-making and organizational planning.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience:
  • 7 years of progressively responsible experience devoted to technology visioning, planning and execution, Technology staff management, required.
  • 2 years of experience in project planning and management related to technology systems and lifecycle, public health, health regulatory or health services related organization or program, preferred.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • Master's degree, preferred

Licenses / Certifications:
  • Professional certification(s) such as PMP, preferred
