Job Title: Product Master Data Management (MDM) Consulting Architect
Summary
We are seeking an experienced AI Architect with strong expertise in the Retail industry to lead the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven solutions across enterprise SDLC. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of AI/ML technologies, cloud platforms, retail business processes, and enterprise architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Current-State Assessment: Profile and assess existing product and item data across PLM, ERP, supply chain and downstream systems. Identify duplication, attribute gaps, inconsistent classification, and the process breakpoints that create them.
- Target-State Architecture and High-Level Design: Define the product master data model - item and part entities, hierarchies, product families, variants and configurations, reference data and classification schemes - and establish clear system-of-record boundaries between PLM, ERP and the MDM platform.
- Manufacturing Domain Design: Address part numbering and item lifecycle, BOM and configuration relationships, engineering change management, attribute governance by product family, and the path from new product introduction to a sellable, orderable and manufacturable item.
- Integration Architecture: Define, at a conceptual and logical level, how product data is sourced, mastered and syndicated across PLM, ERP, planning, quote-to-cash and analytics platforms, and recommend appropriate integration patterns.
- Match, Merge and Survivorship Strategy: Define the matching, trust and survivorship approach for item data, recognizing that product domain matching differs materially from customer or party domain matching.
- Data Quality and Governance Framework: Define data quality dimensions, rules, measures and exception handling. Define stewardship roles, data ownership and the operating cadence between engineering, supply chain, product and IT.
- Roadmap and Phasing: Sequence the programme into releases with clear business outcomes, dependencies, prerequisites and indicative effort.
- Stakeholder Facilitation: Run design workshops across engineering, supply chain, product management, quality and IT, and build consensus on contested design decisions.
- Advisory Deliverables: Produce high-level design documents, architecture and data flow diagrams, the logical data model, the governance operating model, and the implementation roadmap.
- Design Assurance: Provide architectural oversight and design review to implementation teams during execution.
Required skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years in data management, including substantial experience in MDM architecture and solution design.
- Demonstrable delivery experience in the Product / Item Master domain - not solely customer, party or supplier domains.
- Manufacturing industry experience, ideally discrete manufacturing; high-tech, electronics, telecommunications equipment, industrial or similar.
- Strong working knowledge of product data as it is held in PLM and ERP: item masters, bills of material, part numbering schemes, product hierarchies, classification and engineering change.
- Proven consulting experience - current-state assessment, target-state design, roadmap definition, workshop facilitation and high-level design documentation.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the credibility to hold a substantive conversation with engineering and supply chain leaders as well as with IT.
- Able to work independently in a client-facing advisory capacity with minimal direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on background with the Reltio platform (Reltio 360), including data modelling, match and merge configuration, survivorship rules, and workflows.
- Experience with Oracle PLM or Agile PLM and Oracle ERP (E-Business Suite or Fusion Cloud SCM), including migration from on-premises to cloud-based PLM.
- Experience defining integration architecture using API-led and iPaaS patterns - Oracle Integration Cloud, MuleSoft or Boomi.
- Familiarity with classification and compliance schemes relevant to manufacturing, such as UNSPSC, ECCN and HTS, RoHS and REACH.
- Exposure to adjacent domains, particularly supplier master and supply chain planning.
- Experience syndicating mastered data into cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.
- Reltio or other recognized MDM certifications.
- Prior experience within a consulting or systems integration environment.
