Position OverviewWe are seeking an
experienced IT Voice & Collaboration Consultant to support the PMO department during the migration of an existing cloud-based telephony platform (
Avaya) to
Microsoft Teams Phone (soft phones).
This consultant will work closely with internal stakeholders and a selected implementation partner to ensure a smooth migration, minimal user disruption, and successful adoption of Microsoft Teams voice services. Following the migration, the consultant will serve as the primary operational contact for
Day 2 voice support, including troubleshooting, optimization, and ongoing service delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesMicrosoft Teams Voice & Telephony- Partner with the implementation vendor to onboard Microsoft Teams Phone users, including call queues, auto attendants, and resource accounts
- Configure calling plans, Direct Routing, or Operator Connect (as applicable)
- Assist with migration from legacy Avaya systems to Microsoft Teams Phone
- Configure and maintain voice policies, dial plans, routing rules, and calling features
- Perform regular system health checks and proactive maintenance
- Act as Tier 2 / Tier 3 escalation support for voice-related incidents
- Run metrics, surveys, and reporting to measure voice solution effectiveness and gather user feedback
- Create and maintain technical documentation, call flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures
Mobile & Endpoint Support- Mobile phone ordering, setup, troubleshooting, and porting assistance
- Support Microsoft Teams phones, mobile devices, and associated hardware/software
- Ensure consistent end-user experience across Windows and macOS environments
New Hire IT Onboarding & Service Delivery- Work with hiring managers to identify technology requirements for new employees
- Configure, build, and deploy laptops, desktops, and mobile devices prior to start dates
- Conduct new-hire orientations to ensure successful technology onboarding
- Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of issued equipment
- Serve as a point of contact for onboarding-related IT questions and troubleshooting
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve onboarding processes and enhance the employee experience
Required Qualifications- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Voice / Teams Phone
- Experience supporting cloud telephony migrations
- Strong understanding of onboarding workflows and IT technology setup
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, customer-focused approach
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience with on-prem and cloud phone migrations
- Familiarity with macOS, Apple ecosystem, and iPhone setup/troubleshooting
- Experience with device management tools (MAM solutions)
- Experience ordering mobile devices through major carrier portals
- Microsoft Teams or M365-related certifications
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Andover, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
