Description We are looking for a highly skilled Firewall Engineer I to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Based in Corinth, Texas, this role focuses on safeguarding enterprise networks and ensuring optimal performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network architecture, cybersecurity, and incident response, playing a crucial role in maintaining system reliability and protection against cyber threats.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure to ensure high availability and scalability.
- Configure and maintain essential network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Optimize network performance and troubleshoot issues to identify and resolve root causes effectively.
- Deploy robust security solutions such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and SIEM systems to protect against cyber threats.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security risks.
- Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures that align with industry standards.
- Monitor security alerts and lead incident response activities to address potential threats promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and processes for auditing and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT Support and DevOps, to implement secure solutions.
- Provide advanced technical support and training to internal teams to ensure effective use of network and security systems.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering and cybersecurity roles.
- Strong expertise in network protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Proficiency with firewall technologies such as Palo Alto and Cisco Firepower.
- Solid understanding of identity and access management systems and enterprise security solutions.
- Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and applications.
- Certifications such as Security+, Network+, or relevant vendor-specific certifications are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a security-focused mindset.
