Ideal Core Technical Skills
API Protocols & Architecture: Deep understanding of RESTful principles. Familiarity with GraphQL, gRPC, or SOAP (if maintaining legacy systems).
API Documentation: Proficiency in using Swagger (OpenAPI) or Postman to document and test endpoints.
Data Formats: Expertise in reading and mapping JSON and XML structures.
Database & Querying: Strong SQL skills to validate data at the source (JOINs, subqueries, and data profiling).
Authentication & Security: Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, and basic web security (HTTPS, TLS).
Tools: Hands-on experience with Jira/Confluence for backlog management and Lucidchart/Visio for sequence diagrams and data flow mapping.
Ideal Business Analysis Requirements - This is the "Business" side of the role-ensuring the API actually delivers value.
Requirements Elicitation: Ability to translate vague business needs into precise Functional and Non-Functional requirements.
API Product Management: Treating the API as a product-considering versioning, deprecation strategies, and developer experience (DX).
Process Modeling: Creating "As-Is" and "To-Be" process maps using BPMN or UML.
User Stories & Acceptance Criteria: Writing clear, technical user stories that a developer can pick up without further explanation.
Gap Analysis: Identifying what the current system provides vs. what the new API needs to deliver.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
