Enterprise Architect

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Cincinnati, OH that is seeking an Enterprise Architect.

About the Role:
As an Enterprise Architect, you will shape enterprise technology direction while staying close to engineering execution. This role requires both strategic architectural thinking and hands-on technical leadership, partnering with engineering teams from discovery through delivery, validating architecture through technical deep dives and lightweight proofs of concept, and influencing implementation patterns across a complex, evolving environment. You will help define enterprise standards, guide modernization efforts, and ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, practical to implement, and adaptable to evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and technical leads to understand business objectives, constraints, and implementation needs
* Develop architecture roadmaps and strategies that balance short-term delivery with long-term platform health
* Design microservices, APIs, and integration patterns while providing guidance to engineering teams
* Drive domain-driven design principles and lead capability mapping workshops
* Lead technical design initiatives in cloud-native environments using technologies such as Kubernetes
* Validate architecture through design reviews, technical spikes, and proofs of concept
* Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and architectural patterns that improve performance, resilience, observability, and engineering efficiency
* Make build-versus-buy technology recommendations based on business and technical requirements
* Partner with development teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and operationally supportable
* Establish architecture standards, reusable patterns, and engineering guardrails
* Collaborate with architects and technical leaders to ensure enterprise-wide alignment

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
* 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture or large-scale Solution Architecture
* Recent hands-on experience influencing technical design and implementation decisions
* Experience modernizing monolithic applications and implementing microservices architectures
* Strong knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
* Experience with cloud-native architectures, containerization, and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
* Experience working within hybrid and cloud environments, preferably Azure
* Deep understanding of REST APIs, service-oriented architecture, and event-driven design patterns
* Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
* Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Ability to influence engineering teams through technical leadership and collaboration

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
