Role Overview:

We are looking for a senior SAP Architect specializing in Energy, Utilities, and Oil & Gas to lead enterprise-scale transformation programs. This role blends deep industry expertise with solution architecture, delivery leadership, and large-deal solutioning to drive business value across Utilities (IS-U) and Oil & Gas value chains.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Architecture & Solution Design

• Design and own end-to-end SAP architecture across Utilities and Oil & Gas landscapes, incorporating SAP S/4HANA and industry-specific solutions.
• Convert complex operational, regulatory, and business requirements into scalable, future-ready SAP solutions.
• Define architecture blueprints, transformation roadmaps, and transition strategies aligned with enterprise standards.
• Ensure solutions are resilient, sustainable, and aligned with long-term business strategy.

Utilities (EUT) Domain Leadership

• Lead architecture and delivery for SAP Utilities (IS-U) environments, covering billing, customer service, device management, and market operations.
• Ensure seamless integration between SAP IS-U, S/4HANA, and adjacent platforms.
• Drive modernization and transformation initiatives within regulated utilities environments.

Oil & Gas Industry Expertise

• Provide architectural leadership across the Oil & Gas value chain:
  • Upstream: Exploration, production, and joint venture accounting
  • Midstream: Pipeline operations, transportation, and logistics
  • Downstream: Refining, trading, distribution, and retail
• Align SAP S/4HANA solutions with operational, financial, and compliance requirements specific to the Oil & Gas sector.

Large Deal Solutioning & Pre-Sales Leadership

• Lead end-to-end solutioning for large transformation deals (>$50M TCV), including:
  • Effort estimation and delivery planning
  • Resource strategy across business lines
  • Commercial and outcome-based pricing models
  • Value-driven business case development
• Drive proposal development and orchestrate cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality submissions.

Stakeholder Advisory & Executive Engagement

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders (Director level and above).
• Deliver executive-level presentations, articulating transformation vision, roadmap, and measurable outcomes.
• Align stakeholders across business and technology functions.

Program Leadership & Delivery Excellence

• Lead solution blueprinting and architecture across the full transformation lifecycle.
• Define program strategy, governance, and execution roadmap for large-scale initiatives.
• Ensure alignment with delivery methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Oversee solution quality, delivery timelines, and profitability for complex programs.

S/4HANA Transformation & Change Enablement

• Lead S/4HANA transformations (greenfield, brownfield, or hybrid approaches).
• Drive organizational change management and user adoption strategies.
• Enable successful transition to modern, digital enterprise platforms.

Collaboration & Practice Development

• Collaborate with internal teams, domain experts, and partners to strengthen solution offerings.
• Contribute to reusable assets, accelerators, and best practices.
• Capture program learnings to enhance organizational capabilities and Centers of Excellence.

Required Skills & Experience:

Experience:

• 15+ years of SAP experience with a focus on large-scale enterprise transformations.
• Strong background in Utilities (IS-U) and/or Oil & Gas industry solutions.
• Proven track record of delivering at least 5 full lifecycle SAP implementations.
• Hands-on experience with S/4HANA transformation programs (greenfield and/or brownfield).

Technical Expertise:

• Deep knowledge of:
  • SAP S/4HANA and Fiori
  • SAP IS-U and industry solutions
  • SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
  • Integration, data, and analytics architectures
• Experience designing composable enterprise solutions integrating SAP and non-SAP systems.

Leadership & Delivery:

• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-workstream programs exceeding $50M.
• Expertise in solution estimation, resource planning, and delivery governance.
• Strong experience in blueprinting and defining enterprise transformation roadmaps.

Consulting & Communication:

• Proven experience in consulting environments (Big 4 or leading system integrators preferred).
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills for executive audiences.
• Strong facilitation skills for workshops, value case development, and solution trade-off discussions.

Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• SAP certifications in relevant domains (S/4HANA, IS-U, Oil & Gas).
• Architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF) are highly desirable.
