Title: Senior Jira Administrator – Jira Cloud Migration (Remote)

Job Summary
Client is seeking an experienced Senior Jira Administrator to support the migration of its existing on-premises Jira environment to Atlassian Jira Cloud. The consultant will be responsible for assessing the current Jira environment, identifying migration requirements, designing and configuring the future-state Jira Cloud environment, and supporting the migration and validation activities.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience administering Jira Server/Data Center and Jira Cloud, including workflows, projects, permissions, custom fields, schemes, automation, integrations, and Jira apps.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support the existing on-premises Jira environment.
- Assess the current Jira configuration, projects, workflows, schemes, custom fields, permissions, users, groups, and integrations.
- Support the development and implementation of the Jira Cloud migration approach.
- Configure and maintain Jira Cloud based on business and technical requirements.
- Analyze existing Jira configurations and determine how they should be replicated, redesigned, or optimized in Jira Cloud.
- Evaluate existing Jira plugins/apps for Cloud compatibility and identify migration or replacement requirements.
- Use Atlassian migration tools, including Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA), where appropriate.
- Support migration of Jira projects, issues, attachments, workflows, configurations, users, and related data.
- Configure Jira Cloud workflows, screens, issue types, custom fields, schemes, permissions, notifications, automation, and dashboards.
- Support integrations between Jira and other enterprise applications and development tools.
- Assist with SSO, user provisioning, groups, roles, and access management.
- Perform migration testing and validate migrated data and configurations.
- Troubleshoot migration issues and resolve configuration or data inconsistencies.
- Work with application owners, developers, business users, security, and infrastructure teams throughout the migration.
- Document current-state and future-state configurations and administration procedures.
- Provide post-migration support and help stabilize the Jira Cloud environment.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on Jira administration experience.
- Strong experience with Jira Server/Data Center and Jira Cloud.
- Hands-on experience with Jira Cloud migration projects.
- Strong knowledge of:

- Permissions and roles
- Notifications

- Dashboards and filters
- User and group administration
- Experience with Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA).

- Understanding of Jira APIs and integrations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Atlassian Jira Administrator certification / Atlassian Cloud certification.
- Experience with Confluence and Confluence Cloud migration.
- Experience with Jira integrations such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, ServiceNow, or other enterprise tools.
- Experience with SSO/identity providers such as Okta, Azure AD/Microsoft Entra ID, or similar platforms.
