Project Estimator-Level 2 - Experienced (6 - 10 Years)

Role Overview

This position is responsible for developing, quantifying, costing, and providing a complete capital expenditure (CapEx) model for evaluating projects. The role involves providing technical guidance, estimating knowledge, market pricing, and staffing considerations during the estimating process. The successful candidate will remain current with technology and industry evolution to ensure market conditions are correctly anticipated in capital estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive capital cost estimates for projects.
• Review project designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness and suggest alternatives where appropriate.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives and promote efficient resource utilization.
• Conduct market pricing research to inform estimates.
• Establish, build, and implement metrics for cost and construction estimate checks.
• Develop expertise in CapEx modeling, construction estimate validation, and cost-efficiency metrics.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 6 to 10 years of experience in preparing capital cost estimates and independently supporting cost evaluations, including the integration of staffing considerations.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word is required.

Other Requirements: A valid, non-restricted driver's license is required for this position. The driving record must show no alcohol or drug-related driving offenses within the previous five years and the license must not be currently suspended or restricted.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, Construction Management, or equivalent experience is preferred. A Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or Engineering is also preferred.

Certifications: A Six Sigma Certification (Yellow Belt or higher) for process optimization is preferred.

Compensation

The anticipated pay range for this position is $50.00 to $55.00 per hour.
