A Fortune 50 financial services organization is seeking a highly capable Senior Project Manager to lead complex initiatives across both Waterfall and Agile delivery environments.
This role requires a strategic yet hands-on leader who can drive projects from concept through delivery, align cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure successful execution. The ideal candidate is proactive, accountable, and skilled at navigating ambiguity while delivering measurable business value.
Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Execution
Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional projects
Develop and manage project plans, milestones, and deliverables aligned to business objectives
Drive execution by coordinating teams, tracking progress, and ensuring accountability
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Identify and resolve cross-organizational dependencies and risks
Mentor and guide team members to support effective execution
Agile Delivery & Tools
Lead projects in an Agile environment, supporting iterative planning and sprint execution
Partner with product owners, technical leads, and development teams to align priorities
Facilitate Agile ceremonies including:
Sprint planning
Daily stand-ups
Reviews and retrospectives
Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage backlogs, track work items, and monitor delivery metrics
Ensure backlog grooming, sprint planning, and tracking are effectively maintained
Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
Analyze project challenges, dependencies, and constraints to determine optimal solutions
Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
Challenge assumptions and drive clarity to improve outcomes
Make informed decisions in ambiguous or fast-changing environments
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
Act as the central point of coordination between teams, leadership, and stakeholders
Build strong cross-functional partnerships to ensure alignment and transparency
Communicate project status, risks, and key decisions clearly
Facilitate discussions that drive consensus and forward momentum
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience managing complex projects or programs
Experience in both:
Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog management and tracking
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and large-scale initiatives
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Experience working with enterprise technology or digital delivery teams
Desired:
PMP certification
Scrum Master certification (CSM or SAFe SM)
Experience managing multi-team, enterprise-level programs
Strong background in Agile coaching and delivery optimization
