The Life Insurance Administration team is seeking a Business Analyst II to support business systems, process analysis, and operational initiatives. This role, based onsite in League City, TX, partners with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver system enhancements and support ongoing business needs.
Position Summary The Business Analyst II partners with business stakeholders and technical teams to analyze business processes, document requirements, and support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of systems that support Life Insurance operations. This role serves as a liaison between business units and IT, ensuring solutions align with operational needs, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.
The Business Analyst II contributes to system enhancements, new product implementations, testing efforts, and production support while helping improve workflows and overall service delivery.
Key Responsibilities - Partner with business stakeholders to understand processes, workflows, and system needs.
- Elicit, document, and validate business requirements for system enhancements and operational changes.
- Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure shared understanding of scope, priorities, and expected outcomes.
- Support system enhancements, new product implementations, conversions, and ongoing maintenance initiatives.
- Develop test scenarios, test data, and validation criteria; participate in system and user acceptance testing.
- Analyze testing results and collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues.
- Support production systems by researching issues, assisting with problem resolution, and recommending process or system improvements.
- Communicate changes, impacts, and timelines clearly to stakeholders.
- Assist with documentation, training, and knowledge transfer related to system or process changes.
- Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior analysts as needed.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field
(Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.) - 4-6 years of experience in a business analyst, systems analyst, or similar role.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with both business and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting business systems in insurance, financial services, or a regulated environment.
- Familiarity with system testing methodologies and validation practices.
- Exposure to process improvement, workflow analysis, or operational support.
- Understanding of life insurance or annuity products and administration systems.
- Experience working in an onsite, highly collaborative environment.
Work Environment - Full-time, onsite role in League City, TX.
- May support multiple initiatives simultaneously and interact with stakeholders across departments.
