RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Corvallis, OR that is seeking an NPI Manufacturing Engineer.

Summary:
We are seeking an NPI Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development, characterization, and production transfer of adhesive and bonding processes for plastic and silicone assemblies. This role is a key contributor throughout the NPI lifecycle, supporting builds from early prototype through production ramp, including proto tooling, dispense equipment integration, line setup, yield optimization, and manufacturing documentation.

Duties:
* Developing, qualifying, and optimizing adhesive dispensing and bonding processes
* Specifying and supporting dispense equipment (e.g., time/pressure, positive displacement, mix/meter systems)
* Establishing robust process windows for dispense parameters, curing, and material handling to meet quality, cosmetic, and throughput requirements
* Partners with tooling vendors and mechanical teams to define fixtures and stations that enable robust adhesive application and scalable production, and supports build, debug, and iteration of proto tools and equipment
* Plans and executes characterization builds and DOEs, analyzes process data, and leads root-cause and continuous improvement efforts for adhesive-related defects and yield losses
* Developing and releasing manufacturing documentation
* Supporting pilot builds and ramp readiness
* Training operators and technicians
* Providing hands-on floor support during critical builds
* Engaging suppliers and OEMs to drive long-term process capability and production support

REQUIREMENTS:
* BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
* 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, NPI, or process engineering roles in an assembly environment
* Hands-on experience with adhesive bonding or fluid dispense processes (silicones, epoxies, sealants, or similar)
* Strong understanding of manufacturing process development, line readiness, and production ramp support
* Experience running DOEs, process characterization, and data-driven yield improvement efforts
* Ability to work effectively in proto-line and production-floor environments, balancing desk work with hands-on support

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
* Experience with mix/meter dispense systems, cure control (RTV, thermal, UV), or high-viscosity materials
* Familiarity with pneumatic and fluid systems as they relate to manufacturing equipment
* Exposure to PFMEA, control plans, SPC, and equipment/process qualification frameworks
* Experience supporting automation or semi-automated assembly stations
* Background in plastics, medical devices, consumer electronics, or precision assembly environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
