FIELD CISO - EAST COAST
SALARY: $300K BASE PLUS $150K COMMISSION PLUS PRE-IPO STOCK
LOCATION: Must live on the East coast and be an hour from a major airport
SELLING POINTS: Must have been a CISO and have a lot of connections, vendor experience. You will travel 75% of the time during the week (home on weekends) building relationships. You will be advising CISOs on security needs. Regulated industry experience. This is a strategy CISO with pre post sales like backgrounds.
The Field CISO is a customer-facing executive who serves as a trusted security advisor to prospects, customers, and partners. This role bridges security leadership and go-to-market strategy, helping accelerate revenue and strengthen market credibility by translating complex security challenges into clear business outcomes.
Unlike an internal CISO, this position does not manage internal security operations. Instead, it focuses on enabling sales success and building trust with executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to drive pipeline growth, accelerate deals, support closures, make strategic introductions, and deliver positive outcomes.
- Serve as the executive security voice in late-stage sales cycles, board-level discussions, and strategic customer engagements.
- Lead security-focused meetings, including architecture reviews, risk assessments, and executive briefings.
- Navigate complex buyer dynamics involving CISOs, CIOs, risk, legal, and compliance stakeholders.
- Provide actionable insights to influence GTM strategy, pricing, and positioning.
Market & Thought Leadership
- Represent the company as a security leader at conferences, webinars, and executive roundtables.
- Contribute to thought leadership through blogs, whitepapers, and industry commentary.
- Build credibility in new markets and verticals through public engagement and strategic relationships.
Customer Advocacy & Trust
- Develop long-term relationships with CISOs and security executives.
- Act as a trusted advisor during critical discussions, audits, or regulatory reviews.
- Help customers articulate security value to their boards and leadership teams.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in cybersecurity or technology leadership, with prior CISO or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of enterprise security domains (cloud, identity, risk, compliance).
- Proven ability to communicate complex security topics to executive audiences.
- Experience in high-trust, customer-facing roles within fast-paced environments.
Preferred:
- Background in B2B SaaS or security vendors.
- Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, and government).
- Established network of security executives.
