Official Job Description:
This is a Technical Project Manager (TPM) role supporting a software-focused technical organization. The individual will work closely with internal engineering teams and external vendors to help drive delivery of fixes, releases, and infrastructure improvements.
The role is not engineering-heavy but requires strong technical understanding to effectively manage complex projects, dependencies, and risks. The TPM will take ownership of key project areas, offloading work from PMs, while being mentored and shaped into the role over time.
Top Skills:
1. Strong understanding and ability to properly communicate the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
2. 3-5 years managing large-scale embedded software projects (non-cloud/or web UI platforms), including microcontrollers, devices, networks, and memory-constrained environments.
3. Technical ability to work with code in dev environment but will not be hands on programming themselves: ability to assess concepts, risks, and dependencies.
4. Strong proficiency with Jira
5. Self-directed, ownership-driven, and able to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
6. Experience with Agile methodologies
7. AI first mindset utilizing highly technical prompts & ability to effectively use LLMs.
Nice to Have:
Experience working with networks, modems and carriers, with familiarity in the automotive industry and standards such as ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
supporting embedded customers, including work with microcontrollers and physical electronic systems, is highly preferred.
Release management and vendor coordination experience
Ability to write Python script
Ideal Domain Knowledge & Preferred Industry Experience to Target:
Candidates should have ideally 3-5 years of experience managing large-scale technical embedded software projects (non-cloud or basic web app work), with hands-on exposure to devices, networks, and resource-constrained environments (e.g., limited memory, embedded systems). Strong domain knowledge in embedded and hardware-focused development is preferred.

What makes a perfect candidate:
Love of the technical process.
Very strong attitude & super organized - looking for a true go getter with good energy.
Someone who has a managed a project on the technical side of things - not the solely business.
People who have worked with organizations in the middle of the project, not at the start or end, don't need someone is doing requirements gathering before-hand, or to put a project into maintenance mode. We need someone who is comfortable working in the dead smack middle of a project.
Someone who has an appreciation of scale - difference of a 50 person team and a 500-person team, what are the complexities here, and what should a project manager take into consideration when scaling a project.
Where have previous interviewed candidates fallen short?
1. Inability to communicate technically regarding the SDLC: "what is his area of the SDLC responsible for?", and they are unable to communicate.
2. Candidates with weak communication - inability and articulate in thought, too quiet or not contributing enough. Or alternatively, forcing their position without listening.
3. Candidates have had weak ability to articulate their thoughts clearly and concisely, looking for someone confident but also a go getter to get tasks complete.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing vendors (notably working with Qualcomm on fixes and releases)
Supporting release management across software initiatives
Driving planning, tracking, reporting, and dashboards using Jira
Coordinating communication across cross-functional technical teams
Supporting test automation project management, including:
Planning lab improvements and capacity expansion
Enhancing test suites and defining future-state trajectories
Driving overall infrastructure improvements
Additional Skills & Qualifications Required
Experience working on large programs (20+ people, non-startup scale)
Exposure to automotive, cellular, connectivity, modem, telephony, or certification-related environments (highly desirable)
Understanding of software testing and automation concepts
Customer or stakeholder management experience (including escalations)
Comfort working in ambiguous environments and learning vendor-specific processes
