Job DescriptionA technology-driven Labs & Data Center team is seeking a data center technician to join their Morrisville, NC operations. In this role, you'll work with cutting-edge hardware and support an established engineering environment as the team integrates new testing methodologies.
Your responsibilities will include receiving and validating hardware deliveries, performing firmware upgrades, managing inventory records, and maintaining data center equipment. You'll also respond to engineering tickets, troubleshoot hardware issues, support network triage, and assist with capacity planning, racking, and hardware organization.
This role is ideal for someone interested in data center operations who has experience with Linux or open-source technologies and has performed tasks such as OS installations, component upgrades, or firmware flashing.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, check in, and rack/stack servers
- Troubleshoot hardware and technical issues
- Monitor power, cooling, and general data center capacity
- Respond to engineering requests via the ticketing system
- Maintain and administer hardware (configuration changes, firmware upgrades, etc.)
- Assist with cabling, racking, and general lab organization
- Perform administrative tasks related to lab operations
- Decommission and prepare hardware for e-waste

Additional Qualifications- Experience working in lab or data center environments
- Background in computer operations, system administration, or related fields
- Degree or certificate in computer science or a technology-related discipline (preferred)
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs; comfortable with bending, squatting, and carrying equipment
- Strong troubleshooting ability and eagerness to grow professionally
- Ability to learn quickly and follow technical procedures
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail; capable of following processes and instructions accurately
