Summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is searching for a Senior Technology Finance & TBM Manager for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Dallas, TX .

The role will initially allow remote work; however, beginning January 2027, onsite presence in Dallas 4 days per week will be required with no flexibility on the onsite expectation .

This highly visible, hands-on role will support Technology Finance and Technology Business Management within a large Global Banking & Markets technology organization. The successful candidate will bring significant banking technology finance experience and deep knowledge of technology cost allocations, Apptio, project portfolio management, and IT financial management .

This is not a strategy-only or executive oversight position. The individual must be comfortable working directly with financial data, allocation methodologies, reporting, portfolio information, and technology stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Execute and manage technology cost allocation methodologies, including allocation of costs from Technology and other non-revenue-generating functions to revenue-generating business lines.
  • Support Technology Business Management capabilities including cost transparency, Bill of IT, cost allocation, TCO, unit costing, and financial analytics.
  • Utilize Apptio to support technology financial management, allocation analysis, reporting, and related business processes.
  • Perform detailed financial data validation, reconciliation, variance analysis, and management reporting.
  • Support project portfolio management processes, including financial and portfolio analysis utilizing CA PPM / Clarity and related tools.
  • Analyze technology spending, cost drivers, consumption patterns, and financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain management reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and financial analysis for Technology and Finance leadership.
  • Partner with Technology Finance, Business Management, Enterprise Data, Architecture, and other stakeholders.
  • Validate cost models, allocation logic, financial data, service taxonomies, and reporting outputs.
  • Support TCO and unit-cost analysis across applications, services, and technology platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, reporting, and automation.
  • Maintain strong data quality, governance, reconciliation, and financial-control standards.

Required Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in Technology Finance, IT Financial Management, Technology Business Management (TBM), financial management, or related disciplines .
  • Prior Technology Finance / IT Financial Management experience within a bank is required.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with technology cost allocations , including allocating costs from non-revenue-generating technology/corporate functions to revenue-generating business lines.
  • Hands-on experience with Apptio , including technology financial reporting, allocation-related processes, and analysis.
  • Experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) processes and tools.
  • Strong understanding of technology budgeting, cost drivers, cost transparency, TCO, and financial reporting.
  • Strong financial data analysis, reconciliation, variance analysis, and reporting experience.
  • Ability to work hands-on and independently rather than functioning solely in an executive/oversight capacity.
  • Experience working across Technology, Finance, Business Management, and Data organizations in a large, complex banking environment.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Dallas 4-5 days per week beginning January 2027 .

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with a large global, investment, commercial, or Canadian bank .
  • CA PPM / Clarity experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA designation.
  • TBM Council certification.
  • Experience with Power BI, ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, and enterprise reporting tools.
  • FinOps certification.
  • MBA or Master's degree.
