Role Summary
This role involves managing and optimizing SharePoint Online environments to support enterprise collaboration, document management, and workflow automation. The SharePoint Engineer will lead migration projects, implement customized solutions, and ensure the security and performance of the platform. This position requires a senior-level professional with extensive experience in SharePoint Online and related technologies to deliver scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and administer SharePoint Online environments to ensure high performance, security, and reliability.
  • Develop and manage SharePoint sites, document libraries, lists, permissions, and content structures aligned with business needs.
  • Utilize modern SharePoint features such as Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint Framework (SPFx) to create tailored solutions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute migrations from legacy SharePoint platforms (e.g., 2013, 2016, 2019) to SharePoint Online using tools like ShareGate, Metalogix, or native migration utilities.
  • Troubleshoot and validate migration outcomes, resolving issues related to data integrity, security permissions, and platform configurations.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users to gather requirements and deliver user-friendly solutions.
  • Provide guidance on SharePoint architecture, best practices, governance, and compliance policies.
  • Develop documentation for technical configurations, workflows, and end-user instructions.
  • Support ongoing platform maintenance, including updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Address technical issues proactively to ensure uninterrupted access and platform performance for end-users.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience as a SharePoint Engineer, with proven expertise in SharePoint Online and migration projects.
  • Deep understanding of SharePoint Online architecture, features, and configuration best practices.
  • Extensive experience executing SharePoint migrations using tools such as ShareGate, Metalogix, or equivalent solutions.
  • Proficiency in Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) and SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
  • Strong knowledge of Office 365 integrations including Teams, OneDrive, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer service focus to ensure end-user satisfaction.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an OCC Public Trust clearance.

Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 - $55.00 hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
