Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented IT Security Administrator to join our team in Leawood, Kansas. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's systems, networks, and data. This role involves identifying and addressing security threats, supporting incident response efforts, and maintaining robust security tools and processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with security policies while contributing to ongoing process improvements.
Responsibilities:
Configure, monitor, and fine-tune security alerts and events to maintain a strong security posture.
Conduct threat detection, log analysis, and incident response as part of day-to-day security operations.
Manage and maintain security tools, including endpoint protection and vulnerability scanning platforms.
Perform vulnerability assessments and collaborate with internal teams to address and remediate identified risks.
Enforce access controls and perform regular reviews to ensure compliance with security policies.
Assist in drafting, updating, and maintaining security policies, procedures, and response playbooks.
Participate in compliance activities and security audits by gathering and organizing necessary evidence.
Partner with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to implement secure configurations and best practices.
Investigate and document security incidents, contributing to detailed incident reports.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance security operations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 2 years of experience in information security, system administration, or network administration.
Familiarity with security tools such as endpoint protection systems or vulnerability scanning platforms.
Foundational knowledge of information security principles, tools, and best practices.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their associated security concepts.
Ability to analyze logs and identify potential security threats effectively.
Basic scripting or automation skills using tools like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with effective verbal and written communication abilities.
