Focus
- Build and grow relationships with homebuilders, contractors, developers, and referral partners to create a steady pipeline of residential and light commercial construction opportunities
- Spend time in the field meeting prospects, visiting active job sites, and identifying new business opportunities across Brandon, Sioux Falls, and nearby communities
- Develop project scopes, coordinate estimates, and help move opportunities from initial conversation through awarded work
- Serve as a trusted local point of contact for customers, supporting both business development and project handoff activities
- Partner with operations and field teams to support scheduling, communication, and service delivery as project volume expands
- Help strengthen local brand presence through consistent follow-up, community visibility, and relationship management
- Monitor market activity, competitor movement, and emerging project opportunities to support strategic growth
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and customer-first execution
Skill Set
- Experience in construction business development, contractor sales, estimating, project coordination, branch leadership, or a similar customer-facing role
- Strong understanding of residential construction, subcontractor relationships, building products, or contractor services
- Proven ability to generate leads, build trust with decision-makers, and convert relationships into revenue
- Confidence working independently in a hybrid and field-based environment
- Strong communication, follow-through, and relationship management skills
- Local market familiarity in the greater Sioux Falls area is strongly preferred
- Ability to balance growth-focused activity with practical coordination across internal teams
- Entrepreneurial mindset, strong work ethic, and comfort building momentum in an expanding market
Preferred Background
- Experience selling into builders, general contractors, specialty trades, or related construction channels
- Exposure to estimating, bidding, or quoting workflows
- Established ties within the Brandon and Sioux Falls construction community
- Background in residential construction, specialty subcontracting, or building materials is helpful
