Description
We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to lead technology operations for a local institution in Cobleskill, New York. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on technical leadership, supporting core infrastructure, strengthening cybersecurity practices, and guiding a small IT team across multiple branch locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of Microsoft environments, network administration, and regulatory awareness within a banking setting.
Responsibilities:
Lead daily IT operations for a small internal team, setting priorities, providing guidance, and ensuring reliable support across three locations.
Manage and improve the bank's technology infrastructure, with a strong focus on network performance, connectivity, and overall system stability.
Oversee cybersecurity measures and compliance-related technology practices to help protect systems, data, and banking operations.
Administer and support Microsoft-based platforms, including core identity, productivity, and enterprise collaboration tools.
Maintain backup, recovery, and configuration standards to support business continuity and reduce operational risk.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to manage technology services, issue resolution, and ongoing system needs.
Provide hands-on technical leadership for hardware, network security, and infrastructure troubleshooting when complex issues arise.
Develop and enforce IT policies, controls, and best practices aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Demonstrated expertise in network infrastructure, including Cisco technologies, network security, and overall connectivity management.
Strong experience with Microsoft environments, including Active Directory and Microsoft 365 Enterprise.
Knowledge of backup technologies, configuration management, and end-user hardware support.
Understanding of information security practices and regulatory expectations within a banking or financial services environment.
Experience leading or mentoring technical staff while remaining actively involved in day-to-day support and operations.
Proven ability to manage third-party vendors and maintain effective relationships with external technology partners.
