.NET Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is partnering with a Saint Louis, MO-based client undergoing a major technology modernization initiative. We are seeking .NET API Developers to support a high-impact effort transitioning from a legacy platform to a modern, cloud-based architecture. This is a 6-month engagement with strong potential for long-term opportunities based on performance and future budget approval.

Project Overview:
Our client is modernizing a long-standing legacy system that has historically relied on batch data transfers (e.g., scheduled CSV file exchanges) across hundreds of retail locations.

The focus of this initiative is to:
* Replace outdated processes with real-time, API-driven integrations
* Build scalable, cloud-native services
* Improve visibility and data flow across ~700 locations
* This is a priority effort aimed at accelerating delivery over the next several months

Details:
* Location: Earth City, MO
* Schedule: Hybrid (Onsite Tuesday-Thursday; Remote Monday and Friday)
* Duration: 4-6 months (right-to-hire potential)
* Work Environment: Agile/Scrum team, highly collaborative

The Developer will play a key role in building modern APIs that enable systems to communicate efficiently in a cloud-based environment.

Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs
* Enable real-time data integration across systems (orders, customers, products, pricing, etc.)
* Build and support services for both inbound and outbound data flows
* Participate in system design and architectural discussions within a microservices environment
* Perform unit and integration testing to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong experience with modern .NET (e.g., .NET 8/10)
* Proven experience building and supporting APIs and system integrations
* Experience working in cloud-based environments (Azure preferred)
* Strong backend development expertise
* Experience with microservices architecture
* Solid understanding of testing practices (unit and integration testing)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
