Role Overview
A contract Technical Program Manager (TPM) is sought to support the day-to-day execution and scaling of test lab infrastructure and operations. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role responsible for keeping lab environments running smoothly, efficiently, and predictably. You will coordinate across engineering, lab operations, and supply chain teams to manage lab infrastructure, track inventory, drive scheduling, and provide clear reporting. This role is best suited for an organized and detail-oriented individual comfortable managing multiple priorities in a hardware development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations of test labs, ensuring equipment availability, readiness, and uptime.
- Track infrastructure needs and support implementation of lab expansions, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Partner with engineering teams to understand testing requirements and ensure lab readiness.
- Maintain accurate tracking of lab equipment, components, and test assets.
- Execute inventory audits, reconciliation, and lifecycle tracking.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and procurement teams to manage equipment availability.
- Manage lab scheduling to ensure efficient use of shared resources and minimize conflicts.
- Track test timelines and dependencies to help teams stay on schedule.
- Act as a central point of contact across engineering, operations, and partner teams.
- Track and report on key operational metrics such as lab utilization, downtime, and inventory status.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in program coordination, technical program management, or operations is necessary. Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams is required.
Skills: Strong organizational and project tracking skills with high attention to detail are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting hardware labs, test environments, or infrastructure operations.
- Familiarity with inventory tracking systems and asset management processes.
- Experience with scheduling tools or resource planning systems.
- Ability to analyze data and generate clear, actionable reports.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
