Role Overview
We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to help systematically modernize core services. This role will involve a deep dive into legacy architecture to understand, document, and recommend improvements for future systems. The position requires a structured approach to unpacking complexity and translating it into deliverable improvements, building a clear understanding of current-state architecture, dependencies, data flows, and operational constraints. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a role that combines technical product management with business systems analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering and architecture to shape and align on the forward-looking vision for each service, identifying opportunities to simplify and evolve toward a more modular and scalable ecosystem.
- Deep dive into legacy architecture to understand functionality, document systems, and bring forward suggestions for future systems as part of a replatforming to a cloud-based architecture.
- Work closely with the lead product manager to understand strategic goals, and own prioritization and trade-offs for the cross-team technical roadmap.
- Proactively identify, track, and manage cross-team dependencies to ensure teams can deliver sprint outcomes on time.
- Partner with Engineering Managers and Tech Leads to shape and document technical requirements, ensuring clarity of outcomes and constraints.
- Decompose work into clear, outcome-oriented increments that can be completed within a single sprint.
- Serve as the product advocate for initiatives, articulating business drivers to technical stakeholders and technical considerations to non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Approximately 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Technical Product Manager, Technical Program Manager, or similar responsibilities as a Developer or Business Analyst.
Technical Skills: A strong technical background with the ability to understand legacy architecture, system architecture, data pipelines, microservices, and contract design. Must be comfortable digging into technical details, documenting systems, and discussing technical trade-offs with engineers. Proven ability to manage dependencies in complex environments using tools like Jira or Confluence.
Communication: Communication skills to translate between technical constraints and business impact and to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the financial services or consumer lending industry.
- Background in software engineering or systems architecture.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with containerization and cloud infrastructure, such as AWS.
- Experience in architecture modernization projects.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90.00 to $90.00 per hour. A comprehensive benefits package is available for eligible employees.
