Location: Kansas City, MO (Onsite)
Duration: 8-Month W2 Contract (Potential for Extension)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible)
Pay Rate: $40–$48/hour (based on experience)

Overview

Russell Tobin is seeking a Creative Interactive Developer to support a leading consumer brand in delivering engaging digital experiences. This role blends strong programming expertise with creative design sensibility to build interactive applications, web experiences, and multimedia content that connect with users in meaningful ways.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop interactive web experiences, applications, and user interfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, content producers, editors, and production teams.
• Translate creative concepts into technically feasible, high-performing digital solutions.
• Develop and animate presentations, websites, games, and multimedia experiences.
• Build and maintain applications using Flash frameworks and web technologies.
• Integrate video, motion graphics, and interactive elements into digital platforms.
• Optimize code and applications to ensure performance and usability.
• Work with a variety of creative assets including illustration, photography, typography, and editorial content.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (design, web, or related discipline).
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Strong programming experience with:
  • ActionScript
  • JavaScript
  • PHP
• Experience with:
  • HTML/XHTML and CSS standards
  • XML
  • Flash/Flex frameworks
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Experience designing user interfaces and interactive applications.
• Ability to balance creative design with technical constraints.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with:
  • MySQL, ASP, or Java (nice to have)
  • Python (a plus)
• Background in motion graphics or animation.
• Experience architecting or leading development of interactive applications.
• Familiarity with integrating Flash applications with web platforms.
