Overview
AMI Operations & MDM professionals manage and optimize advanced metering systems and the data that supports them across utility environments (electric, water, gas). This role ensures reliable AMI system performance, accurate metering data, and compliance with industry standards while supporting data-driven operations and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of Advanced Metering Infrastructure, including meters, networks, and data systems
- Maintain and govern master meter data, ensuring accuracy and integrity
- Monitor, analyze, and validate smart meter data to identify issues and optimization opportunities
- Coordinate smart meter deployments, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Implement data quality controls, cybersecurity measures, and regulatory compliance practices
- Develop reports and dashboards on system performance and metering data
- Collaborate with billing, customer service, IT, and vendors to integrate AMI data into business processes
- Train internal teams and support continuous system and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Several years of experience in AMI operations, data management, or utility operations
- Knowledge of AMI technologies, data management tools, and cybersecurity best practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Familiarity with utility regulations and industry standards
- Project management experience preferred
