Title: Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure
Job Type: Direct-hire
Location: Irving, TX (onsite)
Salary range: 160-170K+ 10% bonus
Summary
This senior-level, hands-on leadership role is responsible for managing and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure, including systems, networking, cloud platforms, virtualization, storage, and disaster recovery. The position blends technical leadership with daily operational oversight, serving as both a team leader and a subject matter expert. The role works closely with senior IT leadership to implement strategy, improve operational maturity, and support organizational growth initiatives such as cloud transformation and acquisitions.
Responsibilities
Infrastructure Leadership & Operations
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of infrastructure engineers
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and critical incidents
- Convert strategic objectives into actionable plans, standards, and priorities
- Collaborate with IT leadership on workforce planning, budget input, and execution of technology roadmaps
Cloud & Azure Environment
- Manage and maintain Azure infrastructure, including subscriptions, identity integration, networking, and resource governance
- Support best practices around cost optimization, tagging, and resource management
- Participate in architectural planning for Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and hybrid identity solutions
Systems & Virtualization
- Oversee Windows Server environments, including patching, lifecycle management, and Active Directory
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper-V), including performance, upgrades, and capacity planning
- Coordinate server hardware lifecycle and maintain vendor relationships for data centers or colocation facilities
Network Engineering Oversight
- Provide technical guidance on routing, switching, firewall rules, VLAN design, and WAN connectivity
- Support network deployments for offices and remote or field sites (including cellular, satellite, and VPN technologies)
- Assist with SD-WAN design, BGP configuration, and expansion strategies tied to business growth
Storage, Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Oversee storage systems (SAN/NAS) and backup solutions
- Ensure backup reliability, retention policies, and offsite/cloud replication
- Lead disaster recovery testing, documentation, and execution aligned with defined recovery objectives
Governance, M&A & Reporting
- Support infrastructure assessment, integration, and migration for acquisitions
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, standards, and compliance evidence
- Contribute to compliance initiatives such as SOC 2, NIST 800-171, and CIS benchmarks
Skills
Required:
- 8-12+ years of IT infrastructure experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership or senior technical capacity
- Strong hands-on expertise across systems, networks, and cloud environments
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure (beyond basic virtual machine administration)
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and hybrid identity models
- Solid understanding of enterprise networking (routing, VLANs, firewalls, WAN design)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V) and backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Azure Backup)
