The organization is now centralizing these capabilities within IT to improve consistency, scalability, and data-driven decision making.
The Power BI Report Writer will partner closely with business leaders and stakeholders, particularly within Customer Service and other operational departments, to gather requirements, develop meaningful dashboards, and deliver actionable business insights. The environment is well-established, with documented data dictionaries and existing data architecture in place, allowing the successful candidate to focus on creating impactful reporting solutions rather than building foundational data structures from scratch.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that support business objectives.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Create meaningful visualizations and metrics that drive operational and strategic decision making.
- Utilize SQL to query, manipulate, and validate data from established data sources.
- Present findings and insights to business leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to improve enterprise reporting capabilities.
- Support the development of a centralized reporting and analytics function.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and reporting automation.
Required Qualifications- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to query and analyze data from multiple sources.
- Proven experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reporting solutions.
- Experience creating executive-level dashboards and analytical reports.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders and leadership teams.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with C# development.
- Experience designing or integrating APIs.
- Background within the utilities industry.
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
