Job Title: Mid-Level Juniper Network Engineer

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL (On-Site Required)
Contract Duration: 6 Months

Role Overview

We are seeking a Mid-Level Juniper Network Engineer to support a 6-month on-site engagement in Fort Lauderdale. This role will focus on the implementation, maintenance, design, implementation and operational support of a Juniper-based enterprise network environment, with an increased focus on Juniper Mist Wireless solutions as the client enhances their wireless infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering Juniper routing, switching, and security platforms and will be comfortable working in a production data center and campus network environment. This role will also support upcoming upgrades to the client's switching and wireless networks.
Key Responsibilities

Configure, deploy, and support Juniper networking equipment including EX, QFX, and SRX platforms, as well as Juniper Mist Wireless solutions

Perform day-to-day operational support for routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure (less emphasis on firewall/security policies)

Troubleshoot Layer 2-Layer 7 network issues, including VLANs, routing, NAT, and wireless connectivity

Implement and maintain BGP, OSPF, and static routing configurations

Support network segmentation, wireless performance optimization, firewall policies, and VPN connectivity

Participate in network upgrades, including switching and wireless modernization efforts, hardware refreshes, and firmware updates

Monitor network performance across both wired and wireless environments and proactively identify and remediate issues

Work closely with internal infrastructure, security, and application teams during troubleshooting and changes

Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configuration standards

Provide on-site support for network incidents, change windows, and maintenance activities
Required Qualifications

3-6 years of hands-on experience supporting Juniper networking environments

Strong experience with Junos OS configuration and troubleshooting

Experience with Juniper EX and SRX platforms (QFX a plus)

Exposure to or experience with Juniper Mist Wireless (highly preferred)

Solid understanding of:

o TCP/IP, VLANs, trunking, and spanning tree

o BGP and OSPF routing

o Firewall rules, NAT, and VPNs

o Wireless networking fundamentals (SSID design, client connectivity, RF basics)

Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools

Ability to work independently in an on-site production environment

Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

JNCIA or JNCIS certification

Experience in enterprise or data center network environments

Exposure to network security best practices and compliance standards

Experience supporting high-availability or mission-critical networks

Experience with Juniper Mist AI / cloud-managed wireless environments
Work Environment

100% on-site in Fort Lauderdale

Data center and enterprise network environment

Regular interaction with infrastructure, security, and operations teams
