Summary

Our client is a growing technology organization seeking a Systems Engineer to join its Infrastructure & Platform Operations team. This is a hands-on role focused on building, maintaining, and improving secure, scalable infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in systems administration, networking, AWS, Infrastructure-as-Code, containers, and production operations. You'll partner closely with software engineering and other technical teams to improve infrastructure reliability, automation, security, monitoring, and deployment processes while taking meaningful ownership of production systems.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Network Engineering, DevOps, or a related role
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, and Route 53
  • Experience administering Linux and/or Windows Server environments
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing, VPCs, and subnets
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
  • Understanding of IAM/SSO, secrets management, vulnerability management, and infrastructure security
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting production infrastructure
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure across AWS and on-premises environments
  • Administer Linux and Windows servers, including patching, performance tuning, and lifecycle management
  • Build and maintain networking infrastructure including VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, VPCs, and subnet architecture
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes workloads, and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Manage identity, access controls, credentials, and secure system access
  • Monitor infrastructure health and proactively identify performance and reliability issues
  • Implement and maintain security controls, vulnerability management, and patching processes
  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
  • Participate in production incident response and perform root-cause analysis
  • Support infrastructure and operational requirements for AI-enabled applications and automation
  • Assist with capacity planning, performance tuning, and cloud cost optimization
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering, Product, and Operations teams on infrastructure needs and platform improvements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Okta or another enterprise SSO platform
  • Experience supporting AI/LLM-powered applications or APIs in production
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator
  • CCNA, Network+, CKA/CKAD, or Terraform Associate certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
