Our client is seeking a SQL Report Writer / Data Analyst in Hollywood, FL.
Role Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for the development, implementation and support of mission-critical enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) reports gathered from various production systems. The SQL BI Report Writer collaborates with business stakeholders, department leaders, and subject matter experts to develop and support BI information (reports, dashboards, etc.) This role involves creating impactful reports, analyzing data, and developing ETL processes to ensure seamless data integration. The incumbent in this position gathers requirements, performs analysis, and translates business reporting requirements to BI report technical specifications. Translates business requirements into specifications to be used to implement BI reports and dashboards, created from multiple sources to support the information analytics.
Performs unit and integration testing and participates in reporting validation and Quality Assurance (QA) efforts as they pertain to reporting and data analytics.
Prepares and delivers reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in reporting systems across the organization.
Advises department and managers regarding appropriate, effective, and efficient use of organizational reporting capabilities and functions.
Solid knowledge of SQL including creating view, tables and stored procedures for reporting purposes.
Prepare Business Reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
Ability to work with many different departments, healthcare, accounting, ERP, and executives for reporting needs.
Interpret, evaluate data to develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify reporting needs and ensure reports align with business objectives while employing techniques which appropriately define alternative solutions.
Optimize reporting processes for accuracy, scalability and efficiency.
Integrate and transform data from various sources (e.g., relational databases, flat files, APIs, etc.) into structured formats for reporting and analytics.
Troubleshoot and optimize SSIS packages for performance and error handling.
Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ETL process.
Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
Conduct insightful, ad-hoc data analysis to investigate and support business decisions and report writing.
Design, develop, and maintain interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards.
Implement complex data models and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to ensure accurate and meaningful insights. Competent in writing Power BI Q&A queries.
Customize Power BI reports and dashboards to meet the specific needs of business users.
Perform Power BI report performance tuning and optimization.
Skills & Requirements
Advanced knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services design, administration, and maintenance.
Thorough knowledge of indexing and T-SQL writing practices for efficient query writing.
Strong knowledge of T-SQL programming skills with the ability to write and optimize SQL code.
Prior experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, to create SSRS reports.
Familiarity with Active Directory (AD), AD groups, AD/SSRS permissions and migrations.
An ability to gather data from different information sources and distribute them to users; use this information to simplify information systems and make sound business decisions.
Demonstrate strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
Ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
Ability to work under strict deadlines and independently with little supervision, as well as multi-task and prioritize multiple projects.
Ability to communicate with non-technical users regarding technical issues.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills and possess high levels of motivation, initiative, and responsibility.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field is required.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience with SQL Server Reporting Services including designing, writing, administering, and maintaining them is required.
Prior experience with Power BI, SSIS and SSRS migration is required.
Prior experience troubleshooting and fixing query performance issues is required.
Prior professional experience using Microsoft Visual Studio, to create SSRS reports is required.
Prior experience with Crystal Reports is preferred.
Prior experience working with healthcare data is also preferred.
Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required.
