The Project Manager is responsible for driving project execution, ensuring alignment between customer stakeholders, internal architects/consultants, and vendor partners, while delivering on time, on scope, and within budget.
The ideal candidate understands VMware delivery engagements, has familiarity with VCF programs, and excels at managing both technical execution and customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end project lifecycle for a VCF 9 engagement (initiation through closure).
- Develop and maintain the project plan, schedule, milestones, and dependencies.
- Coordinate activities across multiple technical workstreams
- Track resource allocation, LOE, and vendor contributions.
- Facilitate customer-facing status updates, steering committee meetings, and executive readouts.
- Manage project risks, issues, and escalation paths.
- Track financials (Management reserve, LOE, travel) and ensure compliance with engagement requirements (e.g., US-based, clearance).
- Serve as the central point of contact between the customer, internal teams, and partners.
- Ensure project documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational handoff are completed.
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years experience managing IT professional services projects.
- Jira - Modern Delivery Management (MDM)
- Proven track record delivering VMware projects; familiarity with VCF strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT project lifecycles (infrastructure, automation, cloud, or application modernization projects).
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional technical teams and vendor partners.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with project financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
- Agile/SAFe
- Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation 5x / 9x components (high-level understanding; technical depth not required).
- Experience working with enterprise customers in highly regulated or complex environments.
