Summary

Position Title: Avaya Support Engineer
Requesting Agency: State of Mississippi / ITS
Location: Onsite Required (Mon–Fri, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM)
Duration: 3-year contract
Exp Level: 15+ years

Core Requirements & Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of experience working with Avaya systems.
Hands-on experience with the following Avaya products:

Communication Manager 7.1.3
Session Manager 7.1.3
Call Management System R18
System Manager 7.1.3
Work Force Optimization 15.2

Experience with equipment including Avaya G650/450/430s and Spiracell SBCS.
In-depth knowledge and experience with real-time communications, voice, and video protocols including H.323 and SIP.
Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, WAN technologies, and QoS.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the configuration and installation of new Avaya systems.
Check the health of the Avaya environment, including trunking and adjunct systems.
Work on trouble and programming tickets, acting as Tier III support for complex issues.
Coordinate with telecom providers to address circuit issues.
Handle deployment of new products and technologies in the Avaya portfolio.
Create accurate documentation for user consumption and train junior-level staff on Avaya technologies.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience with Broadsoft Hosted VoIP products.
Ability to automate routine tasks via Python scripting.
