POSITION OVERVIEW
The H&PS group is seeking an Epic Cogito Reporting Lead Analyst to serve as a subject matter expert for Epic''s analytics and reporting suite. The team focuses on delivering production-grade data solutions by executing ETL development and Cogito reporting builds to meet clinical and operational needs. This role collaborates closely across clients, Epic stakeholders, and offshore support teams to maintain data pipelines and ensure high-governance reporting standards.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Serve as SME for Epic Cogito; provide daily support and resolve incidents per defined SLAs
· Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading between Epic and downstream systems
· Build and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for reports and ad hoc analyses
· Develop and maintain Cogito analytics content: Report Workbench reports, operational dashboards, and analytics catalog items
· Monitor ETL pipeline health and SSIS job scheduling; troubleshoot failures and perform root cause analysis
· Validate report outputs and perform data quality assurance on clinical and operational data
· Translate stakeholder requirements into technical specs; liaise across clinical, operational, and technical teams
· Coordinate with offshore support teams; maintain documentation and ensure HIPAA and data governance compliance
TOP 3 REQUIRED SKILLS
· Epic Cogito Reporting (including Report Workbench, Operational Reporting, and an active Epic Cogito Certification) (4+ years)
· SSIS / ETL Development (designing/maintaining packages, control flow, data flow, error handling, and deployment) (3–5+ years)
· Advanced SQL Server (complex queries, stored procedures, CTEs, indexing, performance tuning, and SQL Server Agent) (4+ years)
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS
· Epic Clarity and/or Caboodle data warehouse utilization as ETL sources (2+ years)
· Caboodle / Data Warehousing concepts (fact/dimension modeling, data architecture) (2+ years)
· SlicerDicer configuration and additional Epic Reporting certifications (e.g., Clarity/Caboodle Data Model) (1–2+ years)
· Deep understanding of healthcare data workflows, HIPAA compliance, and PHI standards

The ideal candidate is a proactive, certified Epic Cogito expert who possesses a strong technical foundation in SSIS ETL pipelines and advanced SQL engineering. They excel in a domain-specific healthcare environment, bringing the communication skills needed to bridge the gap between technical offshore teams and clinical stakeholders. They must possess an analytical mindset with strict adherence to data governance and HIPAA guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
· Design, build, and deploy robust SSIS packages to manage ETL processes between Epic modules (Clarity/Caboodle) and downstream applications.
· Create and optimize sophisticated SQL server objects, including complex queries, stored procedures, CTEs, and indexing strategies for ad-hoc and production systems.
· Develop, maintain, and publish Epic Cogito analytics assets such as Report Workbench tools, dashboards, and catalog items.
· Provide incident resolution, maintain operational SLAs, monitor ETL health with SQL Server Agent, and collaborate effectively with clinical stakeholders and offshore technical support teams.
