Job Description
Summary: The Agile Coach is responsible for working collaboratively with the broader Value Management Office (VMO) team to foster adoption and maturation of agile practices and principles while embedding agile values and mindsets. The Agile Coach is additionally responsible for building credibility with and becoming a trusted advisor to the colleagues, teams, and managers they support while providing consultative mentorship, guidance, and training based upon their assessment of each entity's needs.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Completes comprehensive Agile Maturity Assessments providing key observations, strengths, challenges with recommended next steps.
- Creates and executes comprehensive Coaching Engagements outlining rationale, benefits, assumptions, and approach.
- Participates in completion of Agile Readiness Assessments as part of organizational Agile Transformations.
- Coaches and guides Product Owners, managers, and Agile teams to understand and shift to an Agile mindset.
- Aids in maturing Agile capabilities and use of Agile principles and frameworks across teams.
- Provides guidance on the appropriate use of metrics and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- Collaboratively supports and facilitates opportunities for sharing best practices, challenges, and innovative thinking across the organization.
- Develops expertise in tools used to assist teams mature their usage in an Agile environment and may develop supporting documentation and training content to support colleague understanding of agility.
- Develops an understanding of VMO guidance, policies, and standards surrounding product and project delivery to guide and coach teams to ensure success and compliance where needed.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 8 years' experience working in an Agile environment as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Team member.
- 3+ years of experience with the Scrum framework.
Preferred Qualifications: - Deep Agile expertise; with a strong understanding of servant leadership and the Agile Manifesto's values and principles, with the ability to tailor agile practices and guidance based upon context and agile maturity of the audience to create meaningful coaching experiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; must excel at team building, negotiation, critical thinking, and problem resolution.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to guide individuals, teams, and midline managers to adopting agility.
- Highly organized with the ability to work under critical time constraints. Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Thorough knowledge of various software programs including Microsoft Office programs, and the ability to quickly learn new programs/systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, as well as active listening skills.
