Job Title : IT Deskside Support/Technical Support

Location : Richmond, VA

Worksite : Onsite

Duration : 3+ Months

Job Description:

This role is ideal for someone with strong deskside or Lab IT experience who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with Lab Owners, IT teams, and project management to ensure a seamless migration.
Update and maintain inventory of lab equipment, PCs, and software.
Perform computer and software migrations following established documentation.
Document procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
Coordinate with outside vendors during migration activities.
Provide daily updates and participate in project scrum meetings.
Communicate effectively with users and escalate issues when needed.
Deliver professional, customer-focused support with strong problem-solving skills.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent experience:

Bachelor's degree + 3+ years deskside/lab IT support
Associate's degree + 3+ years deskside/lab IT support
High School diploma + 5+ years deskside/lab IT support

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Customer service orientation with a collaborative mindset.
Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior deskside support experience.
Experience supporting scientific instrumentation in a lab IT environment.
Background in life sciences or laboratory settings.
