Cleared Perioperative Services Consultant

 

This is a Full- Time (W2) Onsite Position in Falls Church, VA supporting the DHA. This position requires an Active Government Clearance (Public Trust, or Higher) to be considered. Full benefits, PTO, and paid holidays is inclusive to this position.

Contract Term: 7 Months (With Additional Optional Years)

Requirements: ship Work Authorization Status; Active Government Clearance (Public Trust, or Higher); Current licensed Registered Nurse that is CNOR or CAPA Certified; Completed Master’s Degree; 5+ years of relevant professional experience with 2+ years of direct professional experience in Perioperative Services supporting a Federal Government Health Agency (preferably the DHA)

 

Job Description:

 

Position Details

Assess Perioperative Services operations of the surgery department.

  • Make recommendations to improve the productivity, quality, and efficient delivery of products and services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures, staff training materials.
  • Understand the utilization of surgical equipment, instrumentation, and supplies.
  • Assess department budgeting practices.
  • Evaluate the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of Perioperative Services care continuum to include procedural scheduling, pre-admission testing, pre-operative care, intra-operative care, post-operative care of patients, as well as the sterile processing department.

Required Skills

 

Strategic Planner

  • Current, unencumbered RN licensure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, as well as, a master’s in business/management/nursing.
  • MHS/DHA experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at various levels within the organization (i.e., HQ, network, facility).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in healthcare setting or with a provider of services to the healthcare industry.
  • At least two years of job duties dedicated to Perioperative Services leadership.

Preferred Skills

  • Certification as a CNOR or CAPA strongly preferred.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

  • Assess Perioperative Services operations of the surgery department.
