Hybrid Every other week onsite/5 days in Covington, KY

Our client seeks a Software Development Engineer in Test to design, build, and maintain robust automation across UI, APIs, and data layers. You will develop Java-based test frameworks and automated suites leveraging tools like Selenium, Cucumber, and JUnit, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines. The role operates within an Agile scrum team and emphasizes high-quality, maintainable automation for complex distributed systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering partners to improve coverage, reliability, and speed of validation.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $50.00 to $55.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, document, and maintain automated tests and in-house test utilities.
  • Develop test automation frameworks for front end, middle-tier services, and back-end data providers.
  • Create, implement, and execute automated tests aligned to acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA analysts, and architects within an Agile Scrum team.
  • Practice ATDD/TDD to drive high-quality, maintainable automation.
  • Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and monitor execution results.
  • Contribute to building the next-generation workflow application with a focus on quality engineering.

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years in software quality engineering roles.
  • Hands-on test automation using Java/J2EE with frameworks such as JUnit, Cucumber, Selenium, Cypress, Karate, and JEST.
  • Experience with Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, Oracle, and SQL.
  • Proven understanding of Jenkins and CI/CD principles and tools.
  • Experience developing automation across microservices, BPMN, and distributed architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with ATDD/TDD methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile, globally distributed environment with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated focus on coding quality and end-to-end integrations.
  • Desire to learn and drive continuous improvement.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
