Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced
Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and execution of complex electrical power systems. This role will lead technical design efforts, coordinate across disciplines, and provide direction to engineering and design teams while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the design of electrical power systems, including development of scope documents, schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables
- Prepare and oversee electrical design packages such as single-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, layouts, and circuitry designs
- Ensure compliance with all applicable industry codes, standards, QA requirements, and federal, state, and local regulations
- Provide technical direction and oversight to engineers, designers, and drafters
- Support system checkout and startup activities as required
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and other engineering disciplines to ensure effective project execution
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting cost and schedule objectives
- Apply strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to make independent engineering decisions with limited management consultation
- Build effective working relationships with plant staff, design engineering teams, and external vendors
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of engineering design principles, preferably within power plant electrical system design
- Proven experience leading and coordinating design efforts, including drawings, calculations, and technical documentation
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute work with a high level of initiative
- Experience managing and coordinating multiple projects concurrently
- Proficiency with applicable electrical codes, standards, QA processes, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to perform design work on large, complex projects-including nuclear plant environments-with limited supervision
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with AutoCAD and CAD Overlay (preferred)
- Familiarity with the industry design process (IP-ENG001 preferred)
- Experience working in regulated environments with strong documentation and quality requirements
