Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Solution Architect to provide end-to-end technical leadership for large-scale, enterprise trading systems. This role focuses on designing and delivering secure, scalable, and future-ready solutions within a Trading and Supply technology landscape, with a strong emphasis on Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM) platforms deployed on cloud-native Azure infrastructure.

The Solution Architect will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and enterprise architecture groups to ensure solutions align with strategic objectives, architectural standards, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

< data-start="1326" data-end="1370">Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Act as the primary architectural authority for assigned IT initiatives and programs.

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture across business process, application, data, integration, infrastructure, and security domains.

• Provide architectural guidance to development teams, designers, and business analysts throughout the solution lifecycle.

• Review, validate, and formally approve detailed solution designs.

• Drive architectural decisions while balancing cost, complexity, risk, and business value.

• Present and defend architecture designs in governance and architecture review forums.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise reference architectures and models using standard EA tooling.

• Ensure all solutions align with enterprise IT standards, security policies, and cloud governance frameworks.

• Elevate project-level designs to conceptual and logical architecture views.

• Monitor emerging technologies and assess their applicability to improve solution scalability, resilience, and efficiency.

• Drive innovation by introducing modern engineering patterns, cloud-native architectures, and automation.

• Partner with business leaders and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Required Experience & Qualifications

< data-start="3240" data-end="3276">Industry & Domain Expertise

• 10+ years of experience in Trading IT environments.

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with OpenLink Endur (v14 or higher).

• Strong understanding of the end-to-end trading lifecycle, from deal capture through settlement.

• Proven experience implementing and supporting Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM) platforms.

< data-start="3613" data-end="3648">Architecture & Engineering

• 10+ years of experience in software delivery and solution architecture.

• Strong background in enterprise and solution architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).

• Experience designing and delivering cloud-native, microservices-based architectures.

• Expertise in containerization, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures.

< data-start="3987" data-end="4025">Cloud & Platform Technologies

• Hands-on experience architecting solutions on Microsoft Azure, including migrations and re-platforming.

• Strong knowledge of Azure services such as:

  • Azure Functions, Web Apps, Kubernetes (AKS)

  • Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Storage, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB

  • Azure Active Directory and security integrations

• CI/CD experience using tools such as Git/GitHub, Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Ansible.

• 3+ years of experience in data architecture and logical data modeling.

• Strong understanding of data platforms, medallion architecture, and data mesh concepts.

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, streaming data, and event-driven pipelines.

• Proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., .NET, .NET Core, Node.js, Python).

• Experience with frontend technologies such as React and micro-frontends.

• Strong integration experience with APIs, Kafka/Confluent, and messaging platforms.

• Exposure to SAP HANA, Salesforce, API Management, and identity/security platforms is a plus.
