Service Desk Technician - Philadelphia, PA (1-Year Contract)

SHIFT REQUIREMENT: Wednesday-Sunday, 3:00pm-11:30pm (Monday and Tuesday off). Training will be Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, then you'll move to the permanent shift. You must be available and open to working this schedule.

The Role:
We're hiring a Service Desk Technician for a 1-year contract with a leading children's hospital in Philadelphia. You'll be the first point of contact for the IT department, providing Tier 1 support for hardware, software, and operating system issues. This is fast-paced, client-facing work in a healthcare environment where your technical skills and customer service matter.
What You'll Do:
  • Provide first-level support for hardware (end-user devices, peripherals), application software, and operating system issues
  • Diagnose and resolve problems over the phone, via remote control tools, or on-site
  • Track all customer service items to completion using call log tracking systems
  • Escalate Tier 2 issues to appropriate resources and follow through to resolution
  • Manage Level 1 queues and ensure proper categorization and assignment of issues
  • Maintain strong technical skills across multiple platforms including Windows 10, Office 365, printers, PCs, networking, and telecommunication hardware
  • Deliver excellent customer service and ensure proper escalation procedures are followed

What You Need:
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with hardware, Windows operating systems, and Office 365
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills - this role is very client-facing
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly, whether on the phone or on-site
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocol suite
  • Understanding of Microsoft software issues including security, deployment, imaging, licensing, and compliance
  • Organized with the ability to follow established processes and recommend improvements
  • Attention to detail and ability to work at a fast pace

Nice to Have:
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Previous healthcare IT or Service Desk Level 2 support experience

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
