Summary

Position Title: MHS GENESIS Application Support Analyst

Location: Remote (U.S.) or onsite in Tysons Corner, VA or San Antonio, TX
Travel: Up to 1–2 times per year for team meetings

Position Status: Full Time

Pay Rate: Up to $115,000 annually (some flexibility for senior candidates)


Position Description:

We are seeking an MHS GENESIS Application Support Analyst to support enterprise healthcare data and analytics initiatives within a large federal healthcare environment. This role focuses on back-end application support, analytics development, and data troubleshooting within Oracle Cerner MHS GENESIS systems.

The ideal candidate brings experience working with Cerner backend data structures, Discern development, and CCL query development to support reporting, analytics, and operational workflows across healthcare revenue cycle systems. This role will collaborate with clinical, financial, and IT stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights that improve healthcare operations, financial performance, and system reliability.

This position supports initiatives focused on healthcare data analytics, revenue cycle performance, and operational reporting across enterprise healthcare systems.


Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain CCL and Discern queries to support analytics, reporting, and operational data extracts from MHS GENESIS
• Analyze and troubleshoot backend data issues impacting revenue cycle, patient access, billing, and scheduling workflows
• Build and optimize SQL queries and reusable datasets supporting healthcare financial and operational analytics
• Support Health Data Intelligence (HDI) and enterprise analytics platforms used for reporting and data analysis
• Investigate system and data discrepancies related to charge capture, billing edits, claims processing, and registration errors
• Collaborate with clinical, coding, billing, finance, and IT teams to ensure data accuracy and operational alignment
• Perform data validation, lineage analysis, and quality assurance checks across healthcare data platforms
• Support reporting and dashboard initiatives using SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or other analytics tools
• Assist with testing, validation, and system upgrades impacting analytics or revenue cycle data workflows
• Produce documentation including data dictionaries, analytic summaries, and technical methodology documentation
• Participate in ITSM processes including incident, problem, and change management


Required Skills/Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Experience supporting MHS GENESIS or Oracle Cerner systems
• Strong experience working with Cerner backend data tables
• Hands-on experience with Discern development and Cerner Command Language (CCL)
• Experience developing SQL queries for data analysis and reporting
• Experience supporting healthcare revenue cycle operations, billing, or financial analytics
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex healthcare system data issues
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and operational stakeholders
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Vertica SQL
• Experience with Health Data Intelligence (HDI) or Oracle healthcare analytics platforms
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Python, or SAP BusinessObjects
